Recent Projects and News from VGF

The girls' toilets have now been completed thanks to contributions from the second hand store Vinden Second Hand in Alingsås.

The school still needs support to complete the boys' toilets. Windows, doors, plaster, and paint are missing. We estimate the cost to be 6,000 USD.

Thanks to donations from Solkraft in Viby, Sweden, we supported Langata School with 50 desks, delivered in time for the school start in January.

The school in Sokon is facing a shortage of school desks. Currently, the school needs 53 desks.

Cost per desk: 35 USD

The school in Langata still lacks functioning toilets. VGF has previously supported the construction in stages, including providing a roof for the building this spring. Remaining work includes windows, doors, plastering, and painting.

Cost: Approximately 50,000 SEK

Electricity is being extended to the villages on Mount Ketumbeine, but the schools must cover their own costs to connect to the grid.

Cost: Approximately 1,000–1,500 USD per school

VGf works in three different schools

A health center has been built in Olchoronyokie, but the housing for staff remains incomplete. Sand and stone are needed to continue construction.

Cost: Approximately 2,500 USD

The school in Langata requests a computer with a printer/copier to reduce transportation costs for items like national exams. The equipment would also benefit nearby schools in Olchoro and Sokon.

Cost: Approximately 2,500–3,000 USD
