Villages Going Forward, Tanzania (VGF) is a non-profit organisation. It aims to help remote villages in Tanzania with growth promoting, education and environment conservation.
VGF works in the north-western part of Tanzania, on the slopes of Ketumbeine mountain. The area is mainly inhabited by Masais who live off the land by herding cattle and subsistence farming.
On the top of Ketumbeine mountain there is a forest reserve with several water sources that supply local villages with water. Below the forest reserve, down the slopes, are five different villages. VGF concentrates its work in two of them – Olchoronyokie and Sokon.
