Where We Work

VGF supports two villages, Olchoronyokie and Sokon, that are situated on the slopes of Ketumbeine mountain in the northern part of Tanzania. The villagers are maasais and live on agriculture and livestock.

Olchoronyokie village has approximately 3000 inhabitants . The primary school with its 400 pupils teaches grade one to grade 7. Sokon village has approximately 3000 inhabitants and a newly started primary school with 600 pupils. The school teaches preschool, grade one to grade 7. VGF supported the construction of both schools.

On the top of Ketumbeine mountain is a forest reserve, where there are water sources that supply the villages and the surroundings with water all year around.
