Tree Planting

VGF has initiated two small tree nurseries. One close to the primary school in Olchoronyokie and one near the primary school in Sokon. Deforestation is a huge problem in the whole of Tanzania and therefore we think it is very important to teach the children how to take care of seedlings and that they each plant seedlings at home close to their boma (the fenced area around hut and livestock). The school and the village take care of the plantations. VGF supports with tools, materials and seeds.

We have also bought tree plants from other nurseries to accelerate the growth.
